What is the M1 Test?
The M1 test is the first step in Ontario’s graduated motorcycle licensing system. It evaluates your knowledge of motorcycle safety, rules of the road, and traffic signs.
Structure of the Test
- 40 multiple-choice questions.
- Divided into traffic rules, motorcycle handling, and road signs.
- Passing score: 80% overall.
- Administered on a computer at DriveTest centres.
Things to Know
After passing the M1, riders must complete mandatory wait times and may proceed to an M2 road test. Restrictions apply to new riders (e.g., no alcohol, no highways).
